The mural was painted on a fence that protected the yard between two houses on Sanchez Street in San Francisco. As is usually the case, the mural was blocked by parked cars.

A bright red woman with arms spread was the main feature of the mural. Leafs in a tree planted in the sidewalk partly obscured her headdress.

Dozens of birds flew and hovered in the eddies caused by the flames burning on the woman's outstretched arm.

At the other end, fish swam under her outstretched arm, and flowers floated over it.

The woman's left forearm was covered in a wide variety of designs. Some resembled animals while others were more abstract. Tiny human-like figures marched up the top of the woman's left arm.

Storm clouds rolled into the upper right of the mural. Lightning struck and flowers flew in the storm.

A closer view of the woman's upper right arm. Fish swam up to her armpit. Tiny figures marched above and the arm itself was covered in a wide variety of designs.

A closer view of the woman's face. Notice the snakes that were her hair. Also notice that her earrings were actual mosaics.

The woman's necklace was sculpted from tiny bits of tile formed into a complex mosaic.

The woman's upper right arm burned in blue flames above and below. The arm itself was covered in a wide variety of symbolic figures.

The artist's signature was painted in the lower left of the mural. It read,"Colette Crutcher © 1998."

The woman's snake hair was sculpted and painted to give it at tactile texture.

The upper left side of the mural was covered in birds. Those birds flew over flames and upward toward a silver light.

Flames swirled around the woman's left hand. Birds appeared to be created by her left hand and flew outward and around her thumb.

The woman herself with the yard beyond. This mural is much more striking up close and in person because of the mixture of sculpted elements, tile mosaics, and paint. The attention to detail, such as the snake's tail, set this mural apart.
