Initially created for Greenpeace, this pole depicts Northwest wildlife: otter, bear, beaver, wolf and eagle with salmon. Each totem is in some way disfigured --a missing eye, lost teeth or otherwise damaged features-- to express the dangers of environmental pollution.

A blue otter was the lowest figure on the totem.

A bear's claws held onto the blue otter.

A bear's face looked fierce, yet was missing a couple of teeth.

A beaver's face was next up the totem with a wolf's head atop him. Both animals had missing teeth.

An eagle stood at the top of the totem. One of its flight feathers was broken and bent to the side.
