A metal pelican perched on the top of a log in front of a closed fresh fish market in Winchester Bay, Oregon. The bird stood in silhouette and appeared to watch the passersby. A pelican is a sea bird that dives to catch fish. And so is the appropriate symbol for a fish market.

A garden alongside Prospect Street had a fake pelican as one of its centerpieces. Here the pelican was flying over yellow flowers.
