Frog Revealed On Underpart Of Leaf

While on tour of the Mombacho Volcano in Nicaragua, the guide turned over a palm leaf to show a frog at rest there. These frogs slept during the day under leaves to avoid being eaten by birds. At night they would enter the water to find food.

A native California frog was on display at the Oakland, Zoo. Unfortunately, no record was made at the time to help identify this species of frog.
