A small bronze sign was embedded in the bricks. Because of the sign's location, it usually remained dirty. The sign read, "The Joggers, Anthony Natsoulas, Commissioned by the City Of Davis, Art In Public Places Program -- 1986

The sculpture featured two joggers passing each other while running in opposite directions. As they passed, they looked at, and smiled at, each other.
