Marshall Tree Mural 2016, Marshall Elementary School, 1575 15th Street, San Francisco, California

![]() A new tree, growing from ground fertilized with knowledge, sprouted from the ground and reached for the sky. Behind the tree was the name "Marshall" composed of letters formed from school supplies.

![]() To the right of the tree mural was a smaller mural that showed an ant hill. Down below the dirt, an ant was painting a picture of flowers, the sun, and clouds.

![]() A closer view of the tree revealed that two of its leaves were made of solar cells mechanically elevated. The name Marshal was spelled using pencils for the M, an A+ grade for the A, a guide to scripting the capital R, a bulge in the tree forming the S, a scrabble letter H, a piece of the double DNS helix forming the A, balloons formed the first L, and a carpenter's square formed the last L.

![]() More treasures were buried below the tree. Among them were a diamond, a compass for drawing a circle, a pencil, the equation for matter to energy conversion, "E=mc2," a gold coin, and a chemistry flask.
