From a distance the mural appeared to be composed of two large words, "Mission," and "District." The mural covered the lower half of an apartment building. This mural was located on Shotwell Street near to 24th Street.

Part of the mural was dedicated to the "Loving Memory" of the "Shotwell Familia." Across the face of a boom box were the words, "Don't Let No One Get You Down."

Another sign of the mural gave credit:

A mustachioed sun, wearing sunglasses and a hat, radiated sunlight over the last half of the word "District," the "RICT," woven with pink roses.

The word, "District" with a bicycle wheel atop it. That wheel resembled a slice of lime.

Buildings inside the word, "District," along with power lines upon which birds perched.

The first "I" of "District" contained the front part of a low rider car.

The left end of the mural contained the word, "Mission." Unlike "District" the word "Mission" looked festive and fun.

Part of the "Mission" word contained two taco businesses. One was called, "Paco's Tacos" and the other was called, "Tacos Burrit," where "Burrit" is short for "Burritos."

A person wept next to one of the decorated skulls that was featured as part of the Day Of the Dead celebration.

Two other letters were occupied. One by a pair of parrots, as part of the wild parrots of San Francisco. And an Aztec Dancer, as might appear in the annual Carnival Parade.

The lower part of an "S" contained an image of Mission Delores and, in front of that, a bit of the grass at Delores Park.

The lower part of the "M" contained the image of a 14 Mission Bus. Above the bus a home was on fire and a part of a burning sign read, "Eviction."

The top of the M contained the image of a billboard at sunset that read, "17 Reasons Why." Below that, "Notice of Eviction" was posted to a burning building. To the right was "Califas Whiz Burgers" with "Shakes • Fries." A police car chased a low rider through the parking lot.

The left end of the mural that read, "Once Upon A Time In The Mission." Fortunately two parking places were vacant so that a better shot could be taken.
