The Nathan's booth was labeled, "This is the original." Inside, free samples of hot dog meat were given away on toothpicks.

Underneath a large inflated hot dog was, "Free Play." People lined up to throw three baseballs at targets. The more accurate the throws, the better the prizes.

Each individual thrower was required to stand behind a green cone. A Nathan's Famous worker judged the accuracy of each throw by eye.
