A sign set on a velvet background by the artist Richard Wilks, identified the sculpture as, "The Aquatrope," and described it as, "A self powered and electric, pedal-assisted mobile art sculpture."

The Aquatrope was thin when viewed from the front. The thick uprights on either side of the seat were the rear wheels.

A long metal tongue supported the seat, pedals, and front wheels.

The seat was composed of a round cushion to sit on, and a round cushion to support the back. A handle of unknown purpose was terminated by a blue ball.

The pedals connected to a sprocketed wheel that moved a drive chain.
