Yellow corn cobs still wrapped in husks were roasting on an open grill. They roasted until the husks became stained with charcoal from the heat.

Several booths had outdoor grills and used those grills to cook meat. Chicken and beef were grilled over open gas flames, then sprayed with water to steam and cook through.

One booth sold snow-cones, another fresh squeezed lemonade. Here was a booth that served flavored shaved ice Hawaiian style.

Each turkey had two legs, so in this picture alone there were seven turkeys. It is wrong to think turkeys are from the country of Turkey. Instead, they originated in the Americas.

Not all food that day was from food stalls. Some restaurants were also open alongside the fair. Here was one sign-waver indicating that "Artisan Food Tasting [Was] Inside."
