Decorations suspended over the alley entrances and over some of the dance areas gave the faire a festive, almost party-like atmosphere. All ages attended, from babies in strollers to the grey-haired elderly.

In a few areas, folks could buy beer or wine and carry it with them throughout the faire. Here a man approached the liquor line with a sign that read, "Jesus Christ Loves You."

Rather than expend hydrocarbons by using a cigarette lighter, this fellow used a magnifying lens to light his pot pipe. Look closely and you can see the cone of sunlight focused inside the bowl.

The ever present Frank Chu wandered through the crowds --the back side of his sign advertising the laughing squid website. This was Howard Street between 1st and 2nd Streets.

A man (here shown in the past) carried a sign asking, "What do we want? Time Travel. When do we want it? It's Irrelevant!"

Tucked down Minna Alley was a modest door behind which was the "Weird HQ." It was there for the misspelled "Wierd Volunteers Only, Thanks." and the sign marked it as a "Staff Area."
