A sign on the table listed locations and hours of operation for the actual booth to appear elsewhere. This was a special, fair-only booth.

Another booth sold earrings and bracelets. Here was one sampling of the kinds of earrings available that day.

The booths were set up all along Grant Avenue from Broadway to Filbert Street .

A hand-made chess board was for sale in a booth that featured hand-made wooden furniture and accessories.

The restaurants along Columbus Avenue remained open during the fair and did a brisk business that day.

The booths ran down the center of Columbus Avenue. The fair only occupied half the street, the other half (behind the booths) remained open to traffic.

Another booth sold small metal sculptures and other items wrought from metal.

Behind some booths, cooks hung out both preparing food and, in some cases, selling the food too. Here they manned large open gas-fed barbecue grills loaded with turkey legs and corn.

One of the foods available at the fair were barbecued turkey legs. Here was a pile of completed legs being kept hot on a barbecue grill.

Although most booths sold food or clothing or art, a few sold technology. One booth sold blade-less fans, while this booth sold a technology experience.

The view looking along upper Green Street toward Grant Avenue At the far end was a band. To the left were stores and restaurants that remained open. Down the center of the street were booths.

Another booth sold mirrored objects of art. At the right, two passers by happened to peer in just as this shot was taken.

A booth that sold hats featured a rack of leather top hats for sale.

In one of the store windows along upper Grant Avenue was this paper mache cat.

Along Vallejo Street, just off of Grant, chalk art was being drawn on the street surface. The words read,

One day if I do go to Heaven... I'll look around and say, "It ain't bad, but it ain't San Francisco." -- Herb Caen.

Another artist was drawing in chalk an image of Yoko Ono and John Lennon on the street.

What kind of San Francisco festival would it be if there were no tie-dyed clothing for sale. Modern tie-die fabric was printed that way rather than hand tied and dyed.
