The contingent that was the Pride organization itself. Its banner read, "Color our world with Pride, San Francisco, 2014, Lesbian gay bisexual transgender pride parade and celebration." And above that a sign that read, "Free Chelse."

A bunch of happy, smiling green balloons approached. Here, they were worn by a woman wearing a fabric lei and carrying a wand.

The banner carriers held a lively conversation early in the parade.

A motorized cable car on wheels passed by with a display of balloons on the outside.

A woman wearing green balloons also wore purple glasses that matched the purple balloons behind her.

A man wearing red balloons got his roller skates caught in trolley tracks and fell. He was not hurt, and rose easily to finish the parade.

A man dressed in silver carried a bunch of round balloons and roller skated near the crowds and tried to high five them.

A man wearing yellow balloons was dressed in gold. He had a gold sailor hat and a red heart on his chest with the word "Vote" in gold on the heart.

One woman wore red balloons with a purple top.

A man wore purple balloons that day. He also wore a bodacious leather top hat and sang into a wireless mike.

Next were rows and rows of balloon puppets. Each was worn on a back with sticks in each hand to work the puppet's arms.

The color of the sticks to work the puppet arms were the same color as the puppet.

Pink balloons on the back of a muscular man who also held a large rainbow flag.

Pairs of walking women carried long sticks to support an arch of rainbow colored balloons.

Many of the rainbow arches filled the street, extending for almost half a block.

The rainbow arches departed leaving behind an even more abstract impression of balloons.

Crazy acting women ended the contingent along with men dressed in banana suits.
