A store with an open window onto the sidewalk sold snacks and drinks. Tubes of crack corn were one favored snack. Others included chips. Coke and fruit drinks were also for sale.

While out for a mid-day walk, I stumbled across this pretzel laid out on the sidewalk. It appeared freshly dropped and not yet stepped on and crushed.
