The cemetery was on the rolling hills just off of the I-80 freeway and accessed via Hilltop Drive. Because it was laid out like a park, with paved streets running through it, access to all parts was easy.

Sonja was Paul's daughter-in-law. She waited for the coffin to arrive.

The coffin had been delivered and flowers draped over it. Soon the burial service would begin. This particular day was sunny but cool.

In some parts of the cemetery the flush gravestones and the upright kind co-mingled. Here a passer by, or a lawn mower, or the wind had toppled over a pot with flowers.

The modern hearse here was white rather than black. Black is the western tradition, whereas white is more the tradition of the far East and India. Perhaps the use of white is common in areas that have very hot summers.

In another area of the cemetery the gravestones were upright and perpendicular to the grass.

Here, a glimpse of the roads winding through the cemetery could be seen. They were paved with actual curbs. The curbs prevented cars from accidently driving up onto the lawns.

The roads were wide enough for cars to park and for other cars to pass the parked cars. This allowed the mourners to park near to the grave site. Electric golf carts were used for maintenance.
