The ceiling over the dining room table was decorated with a "Happy Birthday" sign and crepe paper streamers. The table itself was covered in a bird-themed tablecloth under a stack of presents.

Lunch was freshly prepared tacos. Gypsy the dog begged for a bite of Westley's taco.

Terry rested at the table, finally pleased to be an adult, and surrounded by gifts.

The left over dregs of former tacos remained on the table after lunch.

A homemade cake in a shallow pan with a single candle was set before Terry. She asked Oliver if he could help her open presents.

Walnuts decorated part of the cake. Terry ate a nutty piece of her birthday cake.

Terry's first present was a cup displaying birds on a line. The words on the cup read, "Bird Nerd."

Terry's second present was a cat themed puzzle.

Terry received a gift certificate for Haiven Hair Studio .

Another of Terry's birthday gifts was a bird painted on vertical slats of wood.

Terry next received a group of three paintings of birds perched on a line. The three paintings where held up for viewing by Terry and Dieter.

A school photo portrait of Oliver showed Oliver's face reflected on the glass.

School photographs of Westley and Oliver were placed on the wine rack against the wall by the door to the guest bedroom and office.

Terry's new art was hung on the wall over the TV. The bird on the left and the birds in the center were new. The bird on the far right was a former Christmas present.
