A school was surrounded by almost freakishly tall palm trees. An estimate base on the size of the car made these trees over 80 feet (24 meters) tall.

A small cottage at the back of a modest parking lot was wrapped by bright red flowing plants.

A dentist and a Dental Office shared a low building on the corner of South D Street and West 5th Street. A small parking lot lay behind the building.

The yard next to 527 was barren and unkempt. Whereas 527 itself was lushly landscaped with a handsome glassed in porch.

The Santa Clara Church was a classicly fine Catholic Church located near downtown Oxnard. Note the modernistic five-pointed star above each front entry door. They resemble ginger-bread men.

The city of Oxnard Police Department was located in a brand new building with unusually tall palm trees lining the street out front.

Banners on lamp posts along the streets of downtown Oxnard employed the theme of "Spicy." Other banners announced upcoming events.

The Woolworth Building was designed in 1949, and built in 1950. When F.W. Woolworth Company closed all of it's thousands of stores in North America, this building became vacant and remained so until 2003. It had been refurbished and modernized into a replica of the original 1950's look.

An outdoor shopping mall lay near West 5th Street and featured shopping with a multi-headed cinema.
