A sign on one of the stores on the wharf read, "Coastal Treasures," and another read, "Jewelry upstairs." At the top of the stairs was a shark head holding a sign in its mouth.

A sign outside stained glass windows read, "Madame Rosinka Palm Reader, Past Present Future Told."

A fire burned down much of the wharf in 1973. After it was rebuilt the old pilings were never removed. As a consequence it is dangerous to dive off the wharf because of invisible pilings below the water's surface.

Building a Future. Pacific Coast Steamship Company's steamer "Mexico" disembarks passengers amid cargo from three-masted lumber barkentine.

A bronze plaque was one of several that described ships and people from the wharf's past.

A drawing on the wood floor of the wharf showed the directions of the compass. Note that the wharf ran due south off shore.

A gull stood on a log waiting for food. Sadly it was perched directly above a sign that read, "Please do not Feed The Birds."

A display of flags showed a history of the California state flag. Here was the first Bear Flag, just preceding entry to the Union. It was called, "Sonoma's Rebel Flag."
