A plaque was posted on a pedestal at the corner of Mission Street and Ceasar Chavez Street in San Francisco. The plaque described the Original Site Of Bancroft Library, currently located in Berkeley, California. It read in part:

Here from 1881-1906, stood the library of Hubert
Howe Bancroft , Who in 1860 began to collect the
wealth of material which was to subsequently
result in the writing of his monumental History Of
Western North America. In in 1905 the library was
purchased by the University of California and re-
moved the following year to its Berkeley Campus.

The first California State Fair was on this location on Post Street in San Francisco. It took place on October 4, 1954.

A plaque on the sideo of an office building on Third Street in San Francisco said that Jack London was born on 615 Third Street. It was in a house that burned during the 1906 earthquake.

A plaque in sidewalk just outside the old Hills Brothers Coffee building suggested the former aroma of coffee that greeted cars on the commute into the city over the Bay Bridge.

A plaque on the face of the Embarcadero YMCA showed that it had origianlly been called, "The Army Navy YMCA."

A Barbary Coast Trail marker was set in the sidewalk at Fisherman's Wharf tourist area in San Francisco, California.
