Signs over and next to the entry gate, a fence festooned with balloons, and folks gathering with dogs for the opening.

A permanent sign attached to a concrete platform gave the history of Rincon Hill: all the way from its barren beginning to the becoming the base of the Bay Bridge. The new dog park is at the foot of that base.

The front gate to the dog park was ajar. Behind it was a booth handing out dog treat bags and in front were the inhabitants of the area with their dogs.

The new plaza that is always open lay in front of the dog park. Here, a dog named Rocky was being shown the sign with the history of Rincon Hill.

A converted bus was the traveling food truck for Le Truc.

A separate play area for small dogs lay behind a pair of gates which (during actual use) only one of which would be open at a time. The sign on the gate read, "Dog Play Area Small Dogs Only."

The all dog area was five times bigger than the small dog only area. On this opening day, small and large dogs shared the all dog area.

Beside one of the booths outside the park, a puppy had its tummy rubbed.

A man who was not afraid to show he was a Giants fan talked to his dog.
