A damaged bench on a brick plaza partly covered in leaves, had a small sign that read, "Admit your mistakes openly and in good humor." JCH (Jim Howland).

The sign was bronze (slightly defaced with graffiti) that read:

Howland Plaza
Honoring
Jim and Ruth Howland
for their years of community service.

A sticker was one time in the past affixed to a bench. This is that skull sticker after time has eroded it.

Another bench had another quotation affixed to it. That plaque read, "If the people in it want it to work, it will." JCH (Jim Howland).
