Decks, At Valley River Inn, A Hotel Alongside The Valley River Center, Eugene, Oregon
|
![]() The Valley River Inn provided a small deck for each room that faced the Willamette River. The decks were side by side with a gap between each deck. A pair of chairs and a table were set outside on each deck. In the winter, the deck could double as a refrigerator.

![]() Behind the Valley River Inn was a path that bordered the river as seen from a deck. Just off the path, an old, metal staircase led down to the river's edge. The stairway was fenced off, and was no longer open to the public. After a heavy rain the bottom step would flood. In the winter, nobody in their right mind would be interested in descending those stairs, even if they were allowed.
