This old mission bell was from the Dolores Mission and used to mark the entry to Dolores Park. After the park's remodeling, the bell was moved up more toward the center of the park.

This old cathedral in Nicaragua had several large iron bells hung in arches high up on the face of the cathedral. Some were hung by chain, but this one was hung by rope.

In two of the larger arches, statues of men stood on either side. One arch lacked a bell. The other one, shown here, included a huge, heavy bell. The visual effect was that the statues were holding up the support holding the bell.
