Two different shackles were attached to the same link hanging from the side of the World War II submarine docked at Fisherman's Wharf. These massive pieces of hardware held this ship firmly to the dock.

A large shackle joined heavy cables to rope line protected by cloth. This was part of what docked a large ship to shore at Fisherman's Wharf.
