San Francisco's new fireboat station was located just a short walk north of the San Francisco end of the Oakland/San Francisco Bay Bridge along the Embarcadero.

The sign on the side of the floating building read:

Rescue equipment and electric winches were on the shore-facing corner of the new fireboat station.

The front of an old (but updated) pier was converted into a fire station. The signs above the door read, "Engine" and "Fire Boat." Behind the double doors was parked a fire truck.

A sign posted on the shore described the role fireboats played during the Loma Prieta Earthquake. It specifically described the role that the Phoenix fireboat played in suppression of those earthquake caused fires..

A fireboat was docked at the new Fireboat Station and ready to support fighting the next shoreline fire.

One of several bay water access points was on shore near the new Fireboat Station. A fire truck or a fireboat could use this access point to pump water from the bay and use that water to re-feed water into the fire suppression pipes throughout the city.
