Environmental Artist Ned Kahn's bus fountain registers the movement of buses by activating water jets as buses pass under sensors on the Bus Deck below the park.

The Bus Fountain was bordered by a glass wall that reflected seating that faced the fountain. The holes in the floor are the holes up through which water is projected when a bus moves below.

Fern leaves grew over and through the glass wall that bordered the Bus Fountain.

The water sprayed up through the floor of the Bus Fountain, which indicated that a bus had just moved below this point.
