A part of the path leading down from the parking lot to the lake entrance was winding with a distinct S curve.

At one point near the top of the hill, Market Street made a classic S-turn. The two different levels created a distinct embossed effect.

A young fellow was twirling two carved S shapes as he marched. The effect is not evident from this still photograph.

This hose was found on a patch of dirt just outside a building on Presidio Avenue. Someone had laid it in the S shape, perhaps to avoid running it over the walkway.

A narrow S curved support for a lamp was bolted to the face of a building. The S was made of bronze and appeared to be very old, and perhaps original.
