The banner showed that this contingent was two groups combined. The Instituto Familiar de la Raza, whose mission is to promote and enhance the health and well-being of Chicanos/Latinos and multicultural/multiracial youth. And Asociacion Mayab, whose mission is to create conditions that allow for the optimal development of the Yucatec Maya community in the San Francisco Bay Area.

A young girl waved to the crowd from the back of a combined float and band platform.

Also on the back of the float, two boys sat and waved. They were dressed in white with matching hats and sunglasses.

Women danced behind the float. All three wore decorative dresses.

Both women and men danced, all with hands raised as if the parade were being robbed.
