![]() The back of a farm truck was piled with the few remaining of oh them watermelon. As farmers markets become more common in cities, so also increases the availability of fresh watermelon to the less fortunate.

![]() During the festival, one booth sold sliced watermelon. On that almost too warm afternoon, this slice on a wooden folding table was just the ticket for refreshment. Just past this watermelon booth were a line of porta-potties and portable hand washing stations. Those hand washing stations turned out to be very useful after eating watermelon. ![]() One of the decorations on the grounds of La Posada Del Doctor (Hotel Doctor) in León, Nicaragua, was a partial slice of a tree trunk painted to look like a watermelon.
