They first honeymooned in Florence, Oregon in 1948. From 1955 to 2014, they vacationed at Honeyman State Park where they brought their 9 children and families to camp, picnic, water ski and sand board on the dunes. Dick was a pioneer builder of one of the first sand boards in the park in the 60's.
