A black horse grazed alongside the road on our way to the Ometepe Ferry. Horses and cattle grazing on the side of the road were common sights in Nicaragua.

Leaf cutter ant on the concrete and stone walkway at the Villa Paraiso Hotel on Ometepe Island. This was still early in the morning so there was low risk of harm from pedestrians.

Shot from a car traveling up a brick road to see the Petroglyphs, this shot accidentally captured a cow delicately scratching its head.

While on a nature hike, we passed a shallow, stagnant pool of water. There swimming in it were a few tadpoles.

Alongside the path while out hunting birds to photograph, we happened upon this butterfly close enough to photograph. It stood on a leaf full of holes that resulted from caterpillars munching underneath.

Seen from the restaurant alongside the town's beach, a man walked his two great dane dogs past a man walking the other way. That second man appeared oblivious because he was to wrapped up in texting.
