![]() Graffiti inside this empty building read, "Vende UK!" while outside the faded word, "Esso," appeared to be what remained of a sign. This building also had deep potholes out front, still partly filled with muddy rain water.

![]() Back when police routinely checked all traffic traveling between provinces, shelters like this were commonly used. These days, checking is more relaxed and handled from cars, so the shelters have been abandoned.

![]() A well-cared-for farm appeared abandoned from the street. There were no animals evident and the structure was beginning to fall apart. The grass was green because of recent rains.
