The sign which described "The Cape Floral Region" was partly occluded by plants. It read in part: "A biodiversity hotspot, the Cape Floral Region in South Africa is home to the greatest non-tropical concentration of higher plant species in the world."

An odd tree or bush grew in the Cape Floral Region garden. It grew up as well as out and down.

Assorted plants grew in the Cape Floral Region garden in the Rooftop Garden of the Salesforce Transbay Center.

Enthusiastic plants grew out through the fence as if invading the sidewalk.
