The sign labeled, "Mediterranean Basin," was attached to the fence bordering the sidewalk. It read, in part: "San Francisco's connection to the Mediterranean Basin extends beyond its cultural history of Spanish Settlement."

A second sign showed all the "Mediterranean Gardens Of The World," and which rooftop garden represented each area.

Delicate lavender colored flowers grew along the fence and grew through the fence reaching for the sidewalk.

Yellow flowers reached towards the sun.

Three shades of green were displayed by a tree, two identical bushes, and low shrubbery. A fourth shade was the shadowed plant behind the others.
