Just inside the park were a dozen or so picnic tables that were available for the sunny days ahead. Here, a storm had just concluded.

A post near the first trail marked the way into the park. The words on the side of the post had been worn over time into almost invisibility.

A view platform had been constructed atop a low rise. Permanently affixed spotting scopes were available to look for birds and other animals in and around the slough. The water in the background was Elkhorn Slough.

One trail crossed the slough itself. Barely visible at the far end was a short bridge over a gap that allowed water to find a common level.
