Erica Blenna is a small flowering plant that can grow as high as 5 feet (1.5 meters). This example was low to the ground.

One of its common names is Lantern Heath due to the shape of its flowers. The flowers were roughly one inch in 0.5 inch (12 mm) in length.

Erica Blenna became a common plant in Europe during the mid 1800's, mostly in England, but never caught on in the States.

The stems are covered in very tiny leaves that grow tightly around the it.

When the air gets too dry, the flowers can wither and die . As a consequence, this African plant was most usually grown inside a hothouse when planted in Europe.
