The bridge as it looked early in the morning just a couple hours shy of a total eclipse.

The sign describing the bridge was on a pedestal near its Riverfront Park entrance. That sign read, in part,

Note that the bridge opened just two weeks before the total eclipse.

The bridge was a footbridge and bicycle bridge that connected Riverfront Park (this side) with Minto-Brown Park (the far side).

The two suspension arches leaned outward at their tops.

A metal railing with cables strung below provided safety for those walking over the bridge.

The under part of the suspension bridge was ribbed to reduce weight.
