The MUNI buses all stopped on the ground floor outside the Salesforce Transbay Center. The stop for the 5 Fulton bus (a trolley bus) was below the Salesforce Transbay Center.

The 38 Geary bus stopped on the other side of the Salesforce Transbay Center. The 38R shown here, had the fewest stops so the R stood for Rapid.

The 7 Haight and the 28 Geary had bus stops next to each other under the overhang of the Salesforce Transbay Center.

A distant bus was just pulling out through a green light.

Nine scooters were tied to six bicycle racks under the overhang of the Salesforce Transbay Center.

Unlike the inside of the Salesforce Transbay Center which was brightly lit and decorated, the outside bus stops appeared industrial and markedly less humanly inviting.

Each bus stop was indicated by a lit sign. The 38R Geary Rapid sign showed alerts (none), the next two departure times (next bus in 7 minutes, and the one after that in 15 minutes), and the current fares.

Information signs also stood next to the outdoor bus stops. One described "Art Programs." The center one described "Music Programs." And the third said, "The sky is the roof."

Crosswalks were clearly indicated with icons and arrows. These crosswalks provided protected access to bus stops.

Doors were clearly marked for access to "Folsom Street", and the "MUNI Bus Plaza." A direction post indicated that MUNI buses and Golden Gate Transit buses were ahead. And that SamTrans buses and taxis were to the left.
