Forest, Seen From The White Pass & Yukon Route

![]() Skagway could be seen in the distance as the forest lining the tracks suddenly cleared. It was a foggy, misty day so the view was not as sharp as it could have been.

![]() We passed through some very dense forests on the way up to the summit and Canada. Here was just a glimpse of a river through the woods.

![]() The weather cleared as we reached the summit (above the clouds). We passed over the third, and final, river surrounded by less dense forest.

![]() A river ran through a forested valley. Hills covered with trees rose on either side of the river. Those hills became high mountains, which became bare rock near their summits.

![]() No trip through an Alaska forest would be complete without at least one shot of a logging road. This road appeared to meet the tracks, but actually turned to parallel them.
