A bridge connected the campsite and common recreation areas to the official day use area. On either side of the bridge were blackberry bushes loaded with almost ripe and very ripe blackberries.

The bridge leading to the day use area passed high over a small creek. Notice the profusion of grasses that hold the bank of the creek together.

The trees between the campsite and the day use area were covered in large clumps of moss. Here was one unusually heavy covering of moss.

Picnic tables under mature trees alongside a dramatically lovely lake. Next to the picnic tables was a net that could be used for volleyball or badminton. On the furthest table, someone had left a bottle and a can.

A pine tree was so large that it made the picnic table under it appear to be a doll setting. Imagine how small you might feel walking under such trees.

The day use area lay snugly alongside the lake. This resulted in a day use area with a lovely view of a dramatic lake. There was almost no wind this afternoon, so the lake was fairly calm.

Someone had visited this day use area and sat at this very table. They had enjoyed the view and the weather and had perhaps eaten lunch. But they failed to remove their trash when they departed.

The day use area had its own set of restrooms. The restroom building was easy to find because it was lit, even in the middle of the afternoon.
