Two small rock cairn external link had been built alongside the river. Nothing dramatic like cairn found elsewhere, but pretty nonetheless.

On the other side of the creek, trees had fallen and now rested atop the rocks that made up the shore of this creek.

Rocks occupied the creek bed. As a consequence, some of the rocks were either half submerged or half dry.

Because this was a creek made up of rocks, it makes sense that some of the rocks would be fully submerged.

A ways further along the shore was another rock cairn. This one was more ambitious than the other two, but was still on the small side.

Some of the rocks lining the creek were so large that they could be called boulders.

Plants grew in the cracks of some boulders. Over eons those starter grasses would transform boulders into rock, and those rocks into sand, and that sand into soil.

Moss covered the rocks nearest the forest. From this distance it looked like just moss, but up close was a mixture of lichen and moss.
