A vertical sign that read, "Mariposa Park" marked the entrance to the park. In the foreground metal cages filled with stones bordered one way in. In the background ran an elevated freeway.

Another sign bordered the entrance. It welcomed all to Mariposa Park and laid out the rule of conduct for those visiting the park. For example, "This Park Is A Drug Free Zone."

The path in ran past two benches and eventually under a wooden arbor.

A handsome selection of wild flowers and native grass grew alongside the path.

The path ran past bicycle parking and thereafter turned into a sidewalk alongside a road.

A playground bordered the path leading in and was present on both sides of the path. Just beyond the playground was the arbor with picnic tables and benches underneath.

An exhausted blue balloon lay on the ground next to a cage containing rocks.

An expanse of lawn was bordered by shade trees under which one could lay down and rest on a hot day.

A metal cage was filled with rocks and topped with boards. That cage formed a bench upon which one could sit and rest.

A curved path led out of the park. It ran past mature bushes and mature flowering plants. A sign next to the path read, "Please Clean Up After Your Pet."

A wide path curved around the spacious lawn. Benches and small tables appeared in alcoves bordering the path. In the distance was the playground. In the background beyond the playground was a "Children's Hospital."
